Role in the project: CIRAD is the project coordinator, as well as working with pyrolysis technologies, bio-composites and bioplastics production processes provider in the pilot plants.
CIRAD (Centre de coopération Internationale en Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement) develops research activities and expertise on Mediterranean and tropical lignocellulosic biomass thermochemical conversion processes in its research unit for biomass, wood, energy and bioproducts. The main targeted applications are decentralised energy with a wide range of power, technologies, materials and bioproducts for sustainable construction. Today, CIRAD has over 1650 staff – with 1140 of them scientists and researchers, working in 15 countries across the world, an annual budget of around € 200 million and 800 separate projects.
